Even though you make the minimum payment each month and all your payments are on time you see alarmingly small, or no, changes in the total balance each month. Your credit cards are carrying high interest rates ant the bpayments you are making barely covers the interest. Maybe you thought that you could transfer your balance at a low intrductory rate but then couldn't pay the total off before the introductory rate expired. Now the interest rate has increased to 18% or more. You'll be paying off this debt for thirty years and that thought is depressing and stressful - The past-due pitfall:
Collection agencies and debt collectors are calling so often that you are thinking of disconnecting your phone. You've fallen behind on your monthly payments on most of your bills and there's still no cash for day-to-day living. The amount of your debt is increasing due to over-the-limit and late fees and the minimum payments are getting even larger. You might be considering bankruptcy as the only way out. - The borrowing-from-Peter syndrome:
Every month, bill paying has become a depressing game of figuring out who to pay and who to pass on this month. You're borrowing from one creditor to make the minimum payment for another and reaching your credit limits is looming close by. This creditor gets paid this month and doesn't the next so that you can pay another. Due to missed payments and high balances, and fees, you can't even get a debt consolidation loan or balance transfer. Life is filled with uncertainty as you never know what to expect when the bills arrive.
